ABOUT ME

I am a painter with creative imagination that is conveyed in a vibrant abstract style. Residing in Raleigh, NC and the coastal community of Wrightsville Beach, NC, I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and studied Studio Art at UNC Chapel Hill. Intellectual curiosity combined with life experiences fuel my creative vision and daily studio work.

ABOUT INSPIRATION

Inspiration for me is abundant, it follows me wherever I go. My sincere, yet curious view of the world around me has an undeniable influence in my work. Always looking at the natural composition of things and the quiet spaces in between, I tend to focus on both the positive and negative and how these varied shapes come together in a harmonious unity. Color cues, always present and changing, are most often absorbed through keen observation. Nature’s colors, textures and light provide the perfect palette to inspire my work.

ABOUT PROCESS

Working mostly in acrylic and some mixed media, I consistently use a mix of dexterity to get things started. This method keeps things loose and a bit more unpredictable, allowing the composition to unfold organically, shape by shape in a free-flowing yet orderly manner. A somewhat puzzled but structured approach in which I am seeking the balance between line, color and form. My aim is to create work that invites you to a place of reflection, stimulates your curiosity and implies a sense of congruity.
